SHARON K. MATHIS, age 66, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was born in Gary on October 27, 1947 to Merle and Goldie Bellinger. She was a graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1965. Sharon will be remembered as a loving mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Merlene (James L.) Banks of Hobart; 3 brothers, Bill (Barbara), Eddie and Charles (Marion) Bellinger; 4 sisters, Lorretta (Ed) Hamilton, Eva Jefferson, Marion (Al) Cook, and Eileen Wiggins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mathis in 1995; her parents; and sister, Betty Reedy.
A funeral service for Sharon will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd with Rev. Bill Gibbs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, (219) 942-2109 or go online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com to extend condolences.
