Sharon L. Novak, age 68 of Portage, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1955, in Gary, Indiana to the late Jay and Betty Hassett. Sharon loved shopping and collected clothes, shoes, and teddy bears of any kind. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren, and talked about them whenever she had the chance.

She is survived by her son, Josh (Sandy) Novak; daughter, Shawnta (Ralph) Benitez; grandchildren, Sasha Garcia, Selena (John) Pomales, Rebecca Piatek, William Piatek, Jessa Mendez, Izziah Mendez; and sister, Tina LaRue.

She was in death preceded by her husband, Terry Novak; her parents, Jay and Betty Hassett; and sister, Sandra Hassett.

Visitation for Sharon will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
