Sharron L. Kochan, age 73 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born on August 7, 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Ralph and Vivian Lavey. Sharron was a homemaker but also worked for the Better Business Bureau, Ross Care Clinic and as a Hair Stylist. She also served as a volunteer for the St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary. Sharron was a longtime member of Assumption BVM Church. Her passion was planting her flowers and gardening with her dogs Little Rascal and the late Snickers.

She is survived by son, Gary (Melody) Kochan of Hobart, IN; brother, Ralph (late Nancy) Lavey Jr. of WI; sister, Barbara Martinez of WI; 5 grandchildren, Jessica, Nikolas and Natalee Kochan, Jamie and Eric Leonard, and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald M. Kochan, son, Ronnie Kochan, daughter, Kimberly Risher, and sister, Darlene Benton.

Funeral services are Friday, May 2, 2014 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge, Hobart and proceeding to Assumption BVM Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Jon Plavcan and Rev. Lourdu Pasala concelebrating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
