Shawn Michael Smith

Shawn Michael Smith, age 38, of Lake Station passed away suddenly on August 5, 2026. He was born November 2, 1987, in Valparaiso, Indiana to James and Barbara (Patten) Smith. He was a former employee of J&J Pizza Shack, where he worked in the processing and distribution of Frozen Pizzas. He loved playing computer games online with his friends.

Shawn is survived by his father, James Smith of Lake Station; a brother, Brandon (Amy) Smith; a nephew, James Dale Smith; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded by his mother, Barbara; his grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Shawn will be cremated with no services at this time, but a Celebration of his life will be held in the future.
