SHEILA MARY LESLIE VAN GORP, age 85, of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Sheila was born on October 8, 1927 in Romford, England to the late Ernest John and Winifred Mary Pepper. She was a resident of Crown Point for the last 20 years coming from Lansing, IL. Sheila was a librarian for many years at the Lansing Public Library. She was active in the Knitters of the Dunes and a member of Town & Country Christian Church.
She is survived by her 6 children: Irene Ward of Lansing, Susan (Larry) Graf of Fort Wayne, Sheila (the late Bob) Tiemens of Crown Point, Liz (John) Crocker of Indianapolis, Gwen (Bob) Eriks of Crown Point, and Anthony (Tori) Van Gorp of DeMotte; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lange of Lansing and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; infant daughter, Barbara Van Gorp; brother, Antony Pepper and sons-in-law, John Sweet and Bob Tiemens.
A funeral service for Sheila will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Town & Country Christian Church, 7005 E. 117th Ave., Crown Point 46307 with her son-in-law, Dr. John Crocker officiating. A private family burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Town & Country Christian Church.
