Sheila K. Smith

Sheila K. (nee Darby) Smith, age 63 of Lake Station passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was born on July 27,1959 in Florence, Alabama to the Bertha (nee Danley) Biniecki and the late Curtis Harold Darby. She enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the casino and had a passion for music and going to concerts. She loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her significant other, Dennis Hunter; daughter, Amy (Tony) Wright; son, Jason (Amanda) Smith; five grandchildren, Brittany, Andrew, Bishop, Marissa and Isiah; great grandson, Carson; mother, Bertha (Tom) Biniecki; two sisters, Rebecca Darby, and Vicki (Mark) Ruzity nieces, Tiffany (Eddie) Ross, Jessica (Tony) Darby and Rachel Ruzity; nephews, Aaron Darby and, Curtis Darby.; great nieces, Mylee, Shayla, and Kayelynn; great nephew, Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Smith; daughter, Crystal Mae Rush, and her father; Curtis Darby; brother, Jeffrey Darby, niece, Tera "cakes" Ross; brother-in-law, Eric Barnett.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
