Shirley Darlene Hale, age 74, of Hobart, IN and formerly of Hebron, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

Shirley was born on September 20, 1947 in Bedford, IN to the late Lawrence Casada and Dorothy (Anderson) Davis.  Shirley worked for many different businesses including Gary Steel Products, the Post Tribune, Stardust Lounge in Hobart, Old Heritage Inn and Country Kitchen in Hebron, and Dekalb Liquors and Mimi's Liquors in Lake Station.  She was a past member of the Hobart Moose Lodge #783.

Shirley was resilient and a very hard worker.  She loved to crochet and was very crafty.  Shirley enjoyed baking and was known for her Red Haven peach pies that she made for the whole neighborhood.  Most of all, Shirley loved to be with her family.  She is a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all.

Shirley is survived by her son: Fred Ault; grandchildren Dylan Ault and Megan Ault; sisters-in-law: Bertha "Shug" Casada, Maggie Ault, and Phyllis; cousin: Jimmy Lee Beal; nieces and nephews: Dale Fitzgerald, Steve Fitzgerald, Tim Vernon, Tom Vernon, Anthony Casada, Estra Casada, Joanie Vernon, David Ault, Leslie, and Sandy; friend and ex-husband: Freddie Ault, Sr.; and beloved German Shepherd: Quinn.

Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter: Tammy Darlene Ault; parents: Lawrence and Dorothy; and siblings: Joyce Spencer, Marilyn Vernon, Bill Casada, Bob Casada, and Dale Casada.

Shirley's family would like to extend their gratitude to the VNA Hospice of Valparaiso for the excellent care and assistance they received.
