Shirley F. Johnson, age 86, of Chesterton passed away Wednesday July 20, 2022, at Northwest Health, Porter.  Shirley was born November 24, 1935, in Bemis, Tennessee to the late John and Mabel (Elrod) Hollaway.  She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Shirley loved to read and to color.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Gene "Bubba" Johnson; her three children, Debra (Danny) Oliver of Portage, Donna Johnson of Chesterton, and Johnny Trent (Kari Stinnett) Johnson of Chesterton; five grandchildren, Jaime (Mike) Hutka, Joshua Oliver, Nicole (Charles) Maxwell, Matthew (John Phipps) Johnson, and Andrew (Kelli) Johnson; eight great grandchildren, Aiven Oliver, Harlie Rothgeb, Michael Hutka, Olivia Hutka, Jayden Johnson, Anexandria Oliver, Avery Johnson, and Maximus Johnson; and many dear friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tina Honeycutt; and her grandson, Terry Lee Kelly.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, directly at Graceland Cemetery, 1505 Morthland Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
