Shirley Ann Morales

Age 71, of Downers Grove, Illinois formerly of Hobart passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 29, 1954, in Gary, Indiana to the late Nicholas and Julie (nee O'Keefe) Badovinac. On October 29, 1977, Shirley married the love of her life Donald Morales at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Hobart. Shirley was a gentle and soft-spoken women whose kindness touched everyone around her. She had a deep love for Hobart, her dogs and horses and found joy in traveling and exploring new places. A devoted wife and a loving mother, she cherished her family above all else. Throughout her life, Shirley dedicated herself to helping others through her work. She was employed at Pet Smart, Prudential Life insurance in Hobart and Allstate insurance in Illinois, where she made a positive impact on colleagues and customers alike. Shirley came from a big, loving family who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts and miss her dearly. Her spirit, warmth, and the love she gave so freely will never be forgotten.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 49 yrs., Donald Morales III; son, Donald Morales IV, brother,

Jerry (Maryann) Badovinac; three sisters, Nancy Franz, twin sister, Sharon (Bob) Cech and Diane (Paul) Mills; numerous loving nieces and nephews and other caring family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Badovinac; mother, Julie (nee Okeefe) Badovinac and brother, Dennis Badovinac.

In lieu of flowers donations to Hobart Humane Society in Shirley's memory would be appreciated.

A funeral service for Shirley will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
