Shirley A. O'Rourke
Age 83, passed away Thursday, November 08, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana. She was born June 14, 1929 in Mobridge, South Dakota to the late Arthur and Tilda (Haakenson) Larson. She was a member of her neighborhood garden club. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed sharing in her grandchildren's lives.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Karen (Vincent) O'Rourke-Renz of Cedar Knolls, NJ, Kathryn (William) O'Rourke-Voorhees of Edgewood, KY and Mary (Russ) O'Rourke-Braxtan of San Diego, CA, 1 son; Kevin (Tonya) O'Rourke of Hobart, 9 grandchildren: Timothy Renz, Kerry Renz, Daniel Renz, Jessica Voorhees, Kyle O'Rourke, Bryan O'Rourke, Shannon O'Rourke, Carter Braxtan and Riley Braxtan, 1 sister; Fern (Archie) Wessel of Rapid City, SD and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Terence O'Rourke, parents, and 2 brothers Raymond Larson and Norman Larson.
A funeral service for Shirley will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Pastor Frederick Hoover officiating. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Visitation will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 9:00-10:30 am also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart. 219-942-2109
