Shirley (nee Butler) Poole, age 72, of Portage, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017. She was born on April 27, 1945 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Muriel and Autie (nee Gourley) Butler. Shirley lived for her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Ida) Poole and Chad A. Poole both of Portage; daughter Melissa Poole; brother, Joe (Jenny) Whitson; six grandchildren. Tara Rowland, Jazmynne Vawter, Sabrina Walbright, Adriana Poole, Zachary Poole and Autie Poole and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service for Shirley will take place Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana 46368. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
