Shirley Ann Reed

Shirley Ann Reed, age 78, of Hobart passed away Monday November 27, 2017 in her home.  She was born October 4, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Orville P. and Agnes M. (Plietner) Rudisel.  Shirley retired as an accountant that worked for several local companies. She was a steadfast and faithful member of Evergreen Memorial Baptist Church.  She was a former Cub Scout Den Leader, she also supported Hobart Boy Scouts and Hobart Youth Sports Programs.  She was a Little League score keeper for several years.  Shirley lived in Nevada for several years following her retirement where she served as Sunday School Teacher.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Daniel (Melanie) Reed of Frisco, TX, John Reed of Hobart and Tom Reed of Michigan City; five grandchildren, Daniel Reed, David Griggs, Joan Brajas, John Reed and Sandra Reed; two great grandchildren, Manny Brajas and Adeline Elizabeth Reed; one brother, Ken (Linda) Rudisel of Williamsburg, MI; one sister, Terry (Chuck) Draper of Harrison, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, JoAnn Reed; two brothers Chuckie and David Rudisel; and one sister, Beverly Hooker.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 29, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm Wednesday with Rev. G. C. Martin officiating.  Her cremated remains will be buried in Evergreen Memorial Park at a later date.
