SHIRLEY JEAN THOMPSON (ZELENKA) nee KISELA, age 90, of Hobart, IN and Palmetto, FL, passed away November 14, 2015, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL. She was born on September 15, 1925, in Gary, IN to Charles and Henrietta Kisela. She was a lifelong Hobart resident and a 1944 graduate of Hobart High School. Mrs. Thompson co-chaired many of her high school class reunions. During her employment years, Mrs. Thompson worked for the Hobart License Bureau, General Telephone and was Vice President of Hobart Nursery, Inc. She served as leader of the Hobart Live Wires 4-H club and volunteered many years at St. Mary Medical Center's information desk. She was a member of the Real Life Community Church of Portage, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Thompson and granddaughter, Geodi McCauley.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Gail (George) Woods of Hobart, IN and Palmetto, FL and Karen Goad of LaPorte, IN; two grandsons, Geoffrey Woods and Andrew Goad, both of Hobart, IN; grandson-in-law, Gregg McCauley of Granger, IN; seven great grandchildren, Shane and Nolan Woods, Evan and Noah McCauley, Kailyn, Meghan, and Brett Goad; 3 stepsons, Terry Thompson, Tom (Kathy) Thompson, all of Merrillville, IN and Randy (Kelly) Thompson of Pueblo, CO.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
