SOPHIE LOUISE HALLETT (NEE KLEVICKAS), age 79, of Portage, passed away November 15, 2014, at Porter Regional Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph and Frances Klevickas. Sophie served her country in the US Airforce and was retired from US Steel as a computer operator. She was a former member of the American legion. Sophie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her son, David (Loretta) Wolfe of Livonia, MI and daughter, Kerry (Mile) Mavrovic of Portage;2 grandsons, Stephen Wolfe of MI and Marko Mavrovic of Portage; brother, Stanley (Leona) Klevickas of Portage.
Sophie was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Helen; brother, Joseph; former husbands, Marion "Manny" Edward Wolfe and George Hallett.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Sophie's memory.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophie will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek, Portage with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. There will be additional visitation on Tuesday at the church from 9:15 a.m. until the time of Mass.
