Obituary

Stanley T. Lesczynske, age 67, of Hobart, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, at home. He was born on September 14, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Adolph and Florence Lesczynske. Stan retired from Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 692, where he worked for many years as a concrete finisher.

“Stan the Man,” as he was affectionately known, enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan and proudly decorated his man cave with all things Blackhawks. He enjoyed decorating his home for every holiday throughout the year, though nothing compared to his love for the Fourth of July. Stan loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also appreciated smoking his Marlboro Reds and relaxing with a cold Coors Banquet. Above all else, Stan will be remembered for the love and devotion he had for his daughters, whom he cherished deeply.

He is survived by his daughters, Brandy Lesczynske and Britney Lesczynske; the mother of his children and dear friend, LeeAnne Perunko; brothers, Adolph (Shelley) Lesczynske and George Dresbaugh; his nephew, Chet Cochran, with whom he shared a special bond; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Florence Lesczynske; sisters, Mary Cochran, Ruth Poss, Debra Grigsby, and Christina Franklin; and his first devoted black Labrador, Slick.

Visitation for Stan will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
