Stanley "Rusty" Padlo Jr.

Age 73, of Portage passed away at his home on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to the late Stanley and Janice (nee Clement) Padlo Sr. Stanley was a retired Crane Operator at U.S. Steel and was a past financial officer of the American Legion Post 260. He enjoys listening, writing and playing music on his keyboard, most of all he loved being with his children and especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Rusty is survived by his children, Jennifer (Chuck) Salerno, Stanley "Trey" Padlo III, and Sean Robert Padlo; stepchildren, Cortnie (Aaron) Lowe, Brandie Thiel and Cody Thiel; seven grandchildren, Randi (Brad) Grzych, Brandi Hedge, Edgar F. Hedge IV, Austin Lowe, Morgan Lowe, Emmalin Cogdill, and Brodyn Thiel; three sisters, Connie (Bruce) Burch, Cammie (Jim) Hawkins and Kym Manoski; brother-in-law, Robert Belshaw and many other loving family members and friends.

Rusty was preceded in death by his wives, Diana Lynn (nee Wison) Padlo; second wife, Linda (nee Layhew) Padlo; sister, Cassie Belshaw; brother, Ted Padlo and brother-in-law, Bill Manoski.

A visitation for Rusty will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 2:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 am also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel. Cremation will follow.
