IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley L.
Puckett
April 21, 1945 – February 27, 2021
Stanley Leroy Puckett, age 75, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021. He was born in Hart County, Kentucky on April 21, 1945. Stan served his country in the Army National Guard and retired from EJ&E Railway as a brakeman after 28 years. In leading up to his retirement, he began traveling back to where his heart loved to be; in Hart County, Kentucky. Stan and his Uncle Don built a beautiful cabin on the river front property that he enjoyed for many years. Fishing, shooting the shit with his sons about life, and relaxing in his recliner was an easy shift for him and enjoyed it to the fullest. Stan was a funny man, who was unbelievably patient and an even better listener. It was a regular thing to have a smoke, a cup of coffee, and talk about whatever came to mind. Stan was a great teacher of this life and an even cooler storyteller that all wanted to be around and listen to. He will be forever loved and always missed. Later Pops.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buiel and Dorothy Puckett; brother, Kenneth Puckett; and sister, Judy Zerface.
He leaves behind, to love and cherish his memory, his wife Irene to whom he had a loving marriage for 46 years; sons, Jason (Maria) Puckett, Adam (Jennifer) Puckett; grandchildren, Allyson, Sara, Alexandra and Lincoln Puckett; brothers, Walter Puckett, Don (Dot) Puckett, Larry (Jean) Puckett; and many nieces and nephews.
Per Stan's wishes, no funeral service will take place. Cremation has been entrusted to Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel. 219-942-2109.
