Stella M. Kimsey

Stella M. Kimsey, age 91, of Chesterton passed away Friday January 14, 2022, at the Chesterton Manor Nursing Center.  Stella was born March 19, 1930, in Tolu, Kentucky to the late Henry and Iness (Hardesty) Hobbs.  She was a Homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Stella enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and taking long walks with her fur babies Buffy and Blizzie.

She is survived by her loving daughter Shirley (Thomas) Slane of Valparaiso; two granddaughters, Jennifer Berrier and Suzanne Slane both of Valparaiso; five great grandchildren, Kyler Berrier, Marlee Berrier, Sophia Eli, Claire Eli, and Stella Eli; and several nieces and nephews.

Stella was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Kimsey; her parents; two brothers, C.L. Hobbs and Jewell Hobbs; three sisters, Laughveign Morrison, Corine Hobbs, and Ruby Tinsley.

Visitation for Stella will be conducted Monday January 17, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
