Stephanie (nee Vondorkavich) Dowling, age 69, of Portage, passed away Friday at VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was born on December 8, 1946 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Novath) Vondorkovich. She was a 1965 Emerson High School graduate and was a retired Tax preparer at Charles Agency in Merrillville and Crown Point. Stephanie was an active member at Nativity of Our Savior Church in Portage. She will always be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Stephanie is survived by her beloved children, John Howerton II, and Dawn (Eric) Anton both of Lake Station; two grandchildren, Jessica (Gary) Anton and Justin (Tiffany) Anton; five great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; John Howerton, Thomas Lee Crosley, her parents; two brothers, Joe and Johnny Vondorkovich.
