Stephen "Steve" G. Sochran

Stephen G. Sochran, Jr., age 57, of Merrillville and formerly of East Chicago in the Harbor, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 28, 2021.

Steve was born on March 25, 1964 in Hammond to Stephen Sr. and the late Marsha (nee Segovia) Sochran.  He owned his own landscaping and lawncare  company, Kingdom Kutts, and was a very hard working man. He married Rosario Esquivel on August 23, 2008 and spent 12 wonderful years together.  Steve was passionate about football, having played all through grade school and high school.  He was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the New York Jets.  Steve was a great man, son, father, and husband and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steve is also survived by his children: Brittany Esquivel, Alondra and Juan Aguilar, Stephen, Michael, and Kevin; father and step-mother: Stephen Sr. and Linda Sochran; sister: Paula Johnson; step-father: David Balog; beloved furry companions: Sky and Loba; and other family and dear friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother and grandparents: Marian Aloise and John Socran and Robert and Petra Segovia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Sochran family or to a charity of your choice.

A visitation for Steve will be Monday, June 7, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Crown Point, IN 46307 with a Funeral Service following at 3:00 p.m. with cremation will follow.
