Stephen Kurzdorfer

Stephen C. Kurzdorfer, age 64, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was born on May 19, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Marian Kurzdorfer. A lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, Steve graduated 3 ^rd in his class in 1973 from Lake Station Edison High School. He excelled at wrestling, weight-lifting and swimming and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was a devout Christian and will always be remembered as a kindhearted brother and friend. He cherished the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Kurzdorfer; sister, Karen Kurzdorfer; and many loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marian Kurzdorfer. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Addison Pointe and Dunes Hospice for the kindness and compassion they showed in caring for Steve.

A funeral service for Steve will take place Monday, January 20, 2020 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
