Stephen Charles Layne, age 30, a resident of Valparaiso passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010. He was born on February 28, 1980 in Berwyn, Illinois. Stephen worked maintenance for Royal Manor Apartments. Stephen enjoyed fishing, music, bowling, and camping.
He is survived by his loving family; grandmother Lena Layne, Valparaiso, daughter Gabriella Layne, Lake Station, mother Dynia Layne, father Steven Hayes, brothers Derek Hayes, Devin Bickett, and Anthony Hayes, aunt Debbie Wolske, cousins Robert, Jeremy, and Beverly Thompson, and good friend Tina Venerable.
A visitation for Stephen Layne will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 directly at McCool Cemetery. Memorials in Stephen's memory may be made to the Layne Family.
