Stephen "Steve" W. Newsom, age 59, of Hobart, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born in Gary, Indiana on April 2, 1958 to the late DC and Mary (nee Edmaiston) Newsom. Steve enjoyed cooking and providing for his family. He will be remembered as a kind hearted father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Steve is survived by his sons, Dustin (Nita) Newsom, Jason Newsom; former wife, Donna Newsom; sisters, Lana (Greg) Cunningham, Lori (Kenneth) Collmar, Misty Ramirez; brother, Barry Newsom; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, DC Newsom; mother, Mary Crosier; twin sister, Stephanie Newsom; and sister, Sheryl Newsom.

A funeral service for Steve will take place Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342 with Dr. Dale P. Combs officiating.
