Stephen T. Shultz Sr, age 64 of Portage passed away November 27, 2024, at home. He was born on September 6, 1960, in Gary, Indiana to the late Charles and Beverly Shultz. He was a retired station operator for NIPSCO. Stephen possessed a commanding presence and was a gifted storyteller with a keen eye for detail. He was undoubtedly the life of the party, eliciting strong reactions from those around him. As a devoted father, he consistently sought the best for his sons and took great pleasure in barbecuing. His fondness for animals played a significant role in his life, and he frequently supported Hobart Humane Society. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Tabitha Pearson) Shultz, Jr., and Nick Shultz; two granddaughters, Galadriel Shultz, and soon to be born, Dani Shultz, two brothers, Jeff (Sharon) Shultz and Ed (Kris) Shultz; two dogs, chocolate lab, Buttercup, golden retriever, May-May and two cats, Robin and Hurst and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Beverly Shultz, father, Charles Shultz and his golden retriever, Maggie-May.

Memorial contributions in Stephen's name may be made to the Humane Society of Hobart.

Per Stephen's wishes, services will be held privately.
