Stephen J. Vode

Stephen J. Vode, age 72, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Mary Medical Center. Stephen was born in Miami Beach, Florida on June 24, 1944 to the late John and Diana (nee Yurich) Vode. Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Local Union 8, drywall finisher. He was a golden member of the Eagles Lodge 2413. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by the love of his life his wife of 43 years, Theresa (nee Mackowiack) Vode; two sons, Stephen (Melissa) Vode and David Vode; his four grandchildren, Emilee, Jacob, Zachary and Livia Vode; brother Mickey (Denise) Vode; sister, Denise Vode; his best buddy ,Bella and many other loving family members and friends
Stephen was preceded in death by parents and his brother, Robert Vode.
Funeral service for Stephen will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. A private family burial will follow.
