Steven Modglin, "Steve", age 73, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Steve was born on March 13, 1950 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Nolan and Norma (nee Palmer) Modglin. He grew up in Gary, Black Oak neighborhood and graduated from Calumet High School, Class of 1968.  Steve worked as an Electrician for Arcelor Mittal for over 40 years.  He was a member of Local 1011.

Steve liked to be outside, whether he was tending to his lawn and property or playing a round of golf.  He enjoyed fishing and working on cars with his three brothers.  Steve enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a slice of cherry pie, and the opportunity to spend time with his family and friends.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his sons: Steven G. Modglin and Chad (Toni) Modglin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers: Larry (late Jackie) Modglin, Phil (Rita) Modglin, and Jerry (Ruth) Modglin; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents: Nolan and Norma; his daughter: Tammie Modglin; and his partner: Roni Krupa.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. for a memorial visitation.
