Steven Norris Alderson, age 52 of Lake Station passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was born on September 21, 1959 in Gary, Indiana. He was a former longtime Glen Park resident and worked for U.S. Steel. He was a member of the Hobart Moose Lodge #783. Norris loved dancing, playing Farmville on his computer, baseball and many sports. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Alderson of Lake Station, IN; his mother, Shirley Alderson of Hobart, IN; 2 sons, David (Taisha) Bravo of Lake Station, IN; Steven (Brianna) Alderson of Lake Station, IN; 1 daughter, Sarah (Tony) Alderson of Glen Park, IN; 1 brother, Dennis (Cheryl) Alderson of Valparaiso, IN; 1 sister, Iris (Keith) Alderson-Szostek of Hobart, IN; 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Jon-Jon, Selina, Oscar, Adriana, Aaliyah, and many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Chico.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Alderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be made to the family.

Funeral services are Saturday, October 29, 2011 beginning with a Moose service at 5 p.m.. and followed immediately by a funeral service at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
