STEVEN CARSON ARMES, age 60, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gary on January 17, 1956 to the late Junior and Gustia Armes. Steve married his wife of almost 41 years, Anne (Tilney) on May 3, 1975 in Malden, Indiana. Steve was an active member of at Lakeview Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for almost 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Anne; 2 children, Steven C., II (Tamara) Armes and Tea (Kevin) Sowash; 5 grandchildren, Carson, Anna, Roosevelt, Kayla and Kody; brother, Russell (Missy) Armes; nieces and nephews.

Steve was also preceded in death by 6 sisters, 1 brother and 3 nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

There will be a home going celebration for Steve on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 2321 Dombey Rd., Portage with Pastor Ronnie Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 2, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church.
