Steven Edward Ivanovich, 56, was born in Gary, Indiana on June 21, 1961, to Bill and Pat (nee Bauswell) Ivanovich.  He grew up in Northwest Indiana and married Roseann P. Costello (Ivanovich) on August 31, 1985. They resided together in communities throughout Northwest Indiana for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Roseann P. Ivanovich and their 4 daughters, including Heather Lynn Ivanovich (Todd Paglialong), Charlotte Sonja Ivanovich Willoughby (Jonathan Anthony Willoughby), Stephanie Elena Ivanovich and Christina Renee Ivanovich. His grandchildren include Lyric Ava Paglialong and Norah May Ivanovich. He is also survived by his mother, Pat Christmas and siblings including David McCosh (Cheryl Bryant), Stephanie Ivanovich Hedgepath (Michael Hedgepath), Lee Christmas and Milorad Ivanovic. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Bill (Zvonko) Ivanovich, brother, Bozidar Ivanovic, and granddaughter, Telia Paglialong. Steven was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1005. With his wife, he ran a construction company for many years. Steven was also a 4 ^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In 2008, he founded Innocent Man Walking to bring awareness to the struggle of people who have been wrongfully imprisoned. Also in 2008, he ran across California and Nevada to bring greater attention to this issue. Steven supported his wife in her law practice and was a strong force in her recent Congressional campaign. His family was truly blessed to have him for the past 56 years. He passed away on May 5, 2018. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 with prayers officiated by Rev. Douglas J. Mayer beginning at 2:30 pm and a rosary at 5:30 pm by the Knights of Columbus at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, located at 10909 Randolph St, Crown Point, IN 46307. A Mass of Christian Burial, with Bishop Dale J. Melczek officiating, will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church located at 509 W Division Rd, Valparaiso, IN 46385. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, located at 1505 E.
