Steven Charles Schau

Steven Charles Schau, age 58 of Lake Station passed away Thursday June 30, 2022 at his home. He was born on November 12, 1963 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Raymond and Joyce Schau. Steve was currently employed as a General Foreman for the City of Lake Station. He formerly worked as a volunteer fireman for the city as well. Steve had a very kind and generous nature. He will always be remembered for helping out anyone in need. He was always there for his family and made sure to call his mother every day to see how she was doing. He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Schau; brothers, Jeffery Schau, Michael (Joann) Schau; sister, Lisa Yost; nieces and nephews, Christopher Schau, Taylor Schau, Amber Yost, Jason (Samantha) Yost; great nieces, Kayleigh Yost and Hailiegh Burgess; many loving aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Charles Schau, Jr.

Memorial contributions in Steve's name may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

A funeral service for Steven will take place Friday, July 8, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond.
