SUSAN L. BURNS, age 72, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022.  She was born on January 14, 1950 in Chicago, IL.  Susan was currently employed at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Visitor Center. She had a passion for birds and wildlife and took great joy in volunteering for the Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Valparaiso. Susan will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend.

Susan is survived by her brother, Larry (Penny) Burns; brother-in-law, Bob Weiland; niece, Lori (late Bob) McNear; nephews, Richard (Sandra) Weiland, Michael Burns, Jeffrey (Chris) Faron and Daniel (Dawn) Faron; great nieces and nephews, Kim (Nick) Yoder, Kelly (Chris) McNear, Emily, Haley and Chelsea Henning, Kayla Faron, Brian Weiland, Jacob Faron, and Justin Pfrommer; dear friend, Pat Wilkins.

She was preceded by her parents, Edward J. and Mary (Glover) Burns; sisters, Peggy Weiland, Sandra (the late Phil) Faron; nieces, Tammy Henning and Robin (the late Bob) Meister; nephew, Gary Weiland.
