Susan C. Carr, age 69, of Portage, IN and formerly of Lake Station, IN, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Susan was born on September 6, 1953 in Gary, IN to the late Charles George and Betty Louise (nee Blackburn) Goodwin. She was a graduate of Lake Station Edison High School, Class of 1971. Susan went on to study at Calumet College and earned her bachelor's degree in Organizational Management. She married Larry Carr on February 15, 1975 and spent 48 years together.

Susan worked as a Grant Writer at Parents and Friends Inc in LaPorte, IN. With her talent in writing, Susan has a success rate of 85% and through that provided care and supplies to local group homes. She was an excellent organizer and a skilled deal finder. Susan's most important job was spoiling her granddaughters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Susan is survived by her husband: Larry Carr; daughter: Casey (Andrew) Jefferson; granddaughters: Teagan and Eleanor Jefferson; and siblings: Charles David Goodwin, Amy (Darrel) Bolin, and Vincent (Kellie) Goodwin.

Susan is preceded in death by her daughter: Dylonna; parents: George and Betty; and her sister: Diana Baldwin.

A Celebration of Susan's Life will be scheduled for a later date. Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
