Susan A. Stroud

Susan A. Stroud, age 64, of Hobart passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center. Susan was born September 20, 1951 in Gary, Indiana to the late Joseph and Irene (nee Suckey) Lugar. She was a DFSSA, State Unemployment office worker. Susan was a member of St. Joseph the Worker in Gary, Indiana. Susan was an avid gardener, past president of Home and Garden in Hobart and a member of New Beginnings transplant group. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Susan is survived by her loving family; son, Jeffrey M. Stroud of Valparaiso; grandson, Mason J. Stroud; two brothers, Joseph "Bud" (Debra) Lugar and Michael "Mickey" (Star) Lugar, and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Stroud and her parents.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Joseph the Worker would be appreciated.
A Rite of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker, 330 E 45th Ave., Gary, Indiana 46409 with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Lawn / Mount Mercy Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, 2016 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
