Obituary

Sylvia Jean Addison (nee Monzulla), age 78, of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday August 11, 2021, at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Sylvia was born October 15, 1942, in Gary, Indiana to the late Charles and Sylvia (Overholser) Monzulla. Sylvia was a homemaker Loving great grandmother, grandmother, mother, and wife.  She was very social and didn't know a stranger.  Sylvia loved doing crafts especially making Cards for special occasions.  She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven.  She was also a member of the Tea Club.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, William Addison of Valparaiso; two sons, William Sherwood of California, and Jody McKinney of Warsaw; three daughters, Lori (Roy) Schroeder of Valparaiso, Kimberly Sherwood of Valparaiso, and Melodee McKinney of Valparaiso; one grandson, Keenan (Tasha) Kozar; and two great grandchildren, Nora Leigh and Finn Atticus Kozar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vinnie Monzulla; grandson, Kyle Kozar, and her first husband William Sherwood.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday August 13, 2021 at Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven, 760 N. McCool Road Valparaiso, IN 46385, with Rev. John C. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the Church on Friday.
