Sylvia O. Wall

Age 96, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. Sylvia was born on June 20, 1917 in Louisville, Illinois to the Richard and Sabina Bryant. She worked at Sears & Roebuck in Gary, Indiana where she made drapes until 1960. She married Wendell Wall at the First Church of Nazarene Church in Hobart, on August 9, 1940. She was a member and the last charter of the First Church of Nazarene. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Sylvia is survived by her loving family, two daughters; Linda Wilson of Middletown, Indiana and Sharon Brimmer of Portage; grandchildren, Renee (Eddie) Thielen, Jill (Javier) Huizar, Lana (Lee) Bobb, Laci (Rob) Moore, Zachary Thielen, Ashley Huizar, Nathan (Chela) Huizar ,Maria Huizar, Leticia Huizar, Nadia Huizar, Evan Bobb, Sylvia Bobb and Leah Kopko.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 50 yrs. Wendell Wall; her parents; brothers, Ova, Leland, Delbert, and Lawrence Bryant; sisters, Mary McKnight, Ethel Kjos, Velma Hinton; two son-in-laws, Vince Wilson and Bud Brimmer.
A funeral service for Sylvia will be Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 am until time of service.
