Tamara Dawn Reed "Tammy", age 54, of Lake Station passed away Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Tammy was born September 24, 1959 in Gary, Indiana to Jack Reed and Nona (Cunningham) Johnson. Tammy was an aid at Polk Elementary School. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. Tammy was a lifelong member of 1st Baptist Church of New Chicago and taught Sunday School for many years.
Tammy is survived by her loving son Landon (Marie Davis) Reed of Lake Station, her mother Nona (Ben) Johnson of Dwer, TN, her stepmother Jean Reed of Washington, PA, one brother Jeff Reed of Florida, two sisters Darla Crowe of Mio, MI and Denise Maynard of Valpo, many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack Reed.
Funeral Services will be 11am Monday November 11, 2013 at the 1st Baptist Church of New Chicago 401 Huber Blvd. Hobart, IN 46342 with Rev. Bill Barrow officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342.
