Tammy J. Costley, age 63 of Portage passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.  She was born on June 5, 1960 in Gary Indiana to the late William C. and Julie Costley Sr..  Tammy grew up in Gary and graduated from Wirt High School in 1978.  She was also a former Hobart resident but currently resided in Portage for the past 12 years.  Tammy worked as a Legal Secretary most recently for the Law Office of Alex Lopez.  Tammy loved grilling and cooking for other people.  She was known for her pasta salad, olive salad, lemon rice soup and cheeseburgers to name a few.  Tammy especially loved her Boxers, "Sandor", "Tigue", and "Bailey".

She is survived by her lifelong friend, Kat O'Donnell of Hammond, IN; niece, Shea (Mario DeLeon) O'Donnell, nephews, Sean (Jill) Funes, Ryan (Savannah) Malone, cousins, James Johnson, and Dr. Kristina Johnson, and lifelong friends, Phyllis and Jeff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William C. Costley Jr., and one sister, Terry L. Stack.

Funeral services are Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.  Visitation is Friday, October 13, 2023 just prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
