Tara Christine (Meade) Parks, age 46, of Hobart, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Born May 27, 1971 to Tom Meade (Angel) of Viera, Fl., and Barb (Mutters) Gray of Lake Station. Married for 15 years to Mike Parks of Portage, In., and a Portage High School Graduate Class of 1989. Tara was a 15 year exemplary employee of the Lake County Clerk Office, which she loved working for and working with everyone in every Clerk Office. Tara was a dedicated and exceptional servant of the public. Nothing made her happier than to help someone, going above and beyond, effortlessly exceeding expectations to resolve an issue or request. Tara loved crocheting, she was passionate about cooking, and enjoyed 10 years of working for the Lake County Election and Voter Registration Board as an Inspector. She was a member of the Archeological Society, she loved singing karaoke and singing with her family, and she supported many organizations and attended many benefits and fund raisers for many causes both in Lake and Porter Counties. Tara was a loving and devoted wife to Mike, and had a passionate love for all animals, but an exceptional love for cats that she and Mike both loved beyond measure as they most commonly refer to their cats as their kids with paws. Tara is preceded in death by her grandparents Harry and Rose Meade, and Monte and Blanche Mutters, in-laws Bob and Jo Parks, additional family members, and leaves behind 2 brothers, David (Jenna) Meade, and Ryan Meade, brother-in-law Rob (Jess) Parks, and sister-in-law Chrissy (Caine) Donis. Tara had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews that she dearly loved and will be truly missed by all of her family, friends, co-workers, and all who knew her. Tara was an amazing, inspiring, and outgoing daughter, wife, mom to their kitties; a vibrant and contagious full of life spirit. She had a generous nature and was the sort of person that would give you the shirt off of her back, literally. She loved life itself and encouraged others to do the same. Tara was a member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church in Hobart, and an attendee of Liverpool Baptist Church in Lake Station. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
A "Celebration of Life" Memorial will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 with Pastor Don Taylor and her uncle Rev.
