Teresa JoAnn (nee Alred) Alfaro, age 45, of Hobart, IN passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. She was a graduate of River Forest H.S. and a graduate from Ivy Tech. She was born in Harlan, Kentucky on March 4, 1972. Teresa was a retired nurse & caregiver she also volunteered at the Exceptional Equestrians working with people with disabilities. She was a member of St Francis Xavier Church in Lake Station, Indiana. Teresa will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Michael Alfaro, of 26 yrs.; they were high school sweet hearts that married shortly after high school. Two sons, Calvin and Vincent Alfaro; daughter, Victoria Alfaro; father, Verlan Alred; mother, Barbara Alred; sister, Darla (Anthony) Kostelnik; brother, Ricky Alred. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Funeral services for Teresa are Wednesday, October 4, 2017 beginning with 9:30 am prayers at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN and proceeding to St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam St., Lake Station for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial.
