Teresa Karen Byrnes, age 56, of Michigan City passed away unexpectedly in her home on Friday July 28, 2017. Teresa was born November 21, 1960 in Gary, IN. She was a disabled Ironworker that worked out of Local Union #395. She enjoyed and was very competitive when playing darts, she loved the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore, music, attending concerts, line dancing, and fishing. She was a member of Road to Life Church.

Teresa is survived by her loving mother Minnie Clifton of Florida; five children, Thelma (Budd) Hefright of Chesterton, Matthew (Kelly) Coican of Highlands Ridge, CO, Bruce Byrnes of Arvada, CO, Jolene Byrnes of Valparaiso and Alita Kirkpatrick of Driggs, ID; six grandchildren, Serenity Hefright, Corinna Hefright, Joshua Hefright, Buddy Hefright, Noah Byrnes and Sage Coican; three brothers, Michael (Julie Anna) Somers of Valparaiso, Richard (Ayumi) Somers of Maryland and Marvin Clifton, Jr. of Lake Station.

Teresa will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Dinner will be planned at a later date. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel was entrusted with Teresa's services.
