Terry Lee Pendleton (Ter Bear) passed peacefully Wednesday, March 8 ^th ,  2023 in his home surrounded by his wife and children at the age of 75.  He was born on March 1st, 1948 in Gary, Indiana to the late Russell and Edna Pendleton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Karen (Stone) Pendleton; children, Darrell Pendleton, Aaron Pendleton, Cassandra (Pendleton) Malnar, Shad Garrett Pendleton, his cherished grandchildren Drew Pendleton, Shane Pendleton, Nicolas Pendleton, Devyn Pendleton, Dakota Pendleton, Zoey Malnar, Lily Malnar, Charley Malnar, Jeremy Malnar, Birdie Malnar, Vera Pendleton, Maxwell Pendleton and his great grandchild, Serenity Pendleton.

Terry is preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister: Jeff Pendleton (Elkhart, IN), Mark Pendleton (Hobart, IN), and Joyce Pendleton (Hobart, IN).  Terry succeeds in death his late brother Russell (Gooper) Pendleton (Hobart, IN).

Terry graduated from River Forest High School in 1966.  Shortly following high school, Terry served his country for two consecutive tours as a member of the United States Army during Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart.  Following Vietnam, Terry attended college and acquired his Associates degree in robotics and mathematics, then trade school for Pipefitting, resulting in his 40 year career.

Terry was accomplished at his knowledge of Basketball and Baseball and often used that knowledge to help coach others. He never missed a Friday night hometown game and was also a long time Valparaiso University men's basketball season ticket holder. He was quiet and reserved as much as he was gregarious. Terry was an exceptionally generous individual who loved his family and always expressed the importance of education.  Terry became an active and dedicated member of his church and congregation at both Real Life and Renovation.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Real Life Community Church of the Nazarene (3134 Swanson Rd, Portage, IN 46368) at 10:30am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Terry's life.  Visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of service.
