Terry C. Troutman, age 88 passed away Friday, October 4, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1936, in Gary, Indiana to the late Sam and Laura Troutman. On May 25, 1957, he married Joanne Fitzsimmons in Gary. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. He retired in 1984 from US Steel where he worked as a machinist. Terry would often joke that he beat the man by being retired for longer than he worked. He was an avid fisherman and made great memories with his family while camping across the United States. Terry was an awesome father, but he was an even better grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his greatest joy in life, and he leaves them with a legacy of love.

He is survived by his children, Deborah (Curtis) Smith, David (Mary) Troutman, Keith (Cheryl) Troutman, Beth (Gerald) Parton; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate of 66 years, Joanne Troutman; grandson, Sam Troutman; and a sister, Nancy. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 8446 Virginia Street Merrillville, IN 46410.

Visitation for Terry will take place Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will take place Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
