Thaddeus M. "Ted" Frankowski, age 91, of Hobart passed away Monday December 9, 2013 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. Ted was born September 7, 1922 in Gary, Indiana to the late Walter and Bernice (Jablonski) Frankowski. Ted was a millwright that retired from US Steel in 1982 with over 40 years of service. On January 25, 1947 at Holy Family Catholic Church Ted married the love of his life Lillian Sidor.

Ted was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in New Chicago. Ted was a former member of Holy Family Church in Gary and was a loving friend of Rev. Stanley Milewski, Pastor. Ted was a WWII army veteran serving in the European Theater. He was a member of American Legion Post #207 and PNA Silver Bell Club Lodge #2365.

Ted is survived by his loving wife Lillian of Hobart; Sons Mitch (Mary Jo) Frankowski of Hobart and Ted (Rosemary) Frankowski of Brownsburg; Five grandchildren Jennifer (Todd) Huff of Rensselaer, Matthew (Jennifer) Frankowski of Morgan Township, Lisa Frankowski of Brownsburg, Ben Frankowski of South Bend and Steven Frankowski of Brownsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; sister Harriet Zygmunt; three brothers Ben, Stanley and Hank Frankowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday December 13, 2013 with 9:30 am prayers at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN and then proceed to Assumption BVM Church 3530 Illinois St. Hobart, IN with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday with a 4:30 pm Prayer Service at the Funeral Home. There will also be a PNA Silver Bell service and American Legion memorial service during the visitation.
