Thaddeus J. "Ted" Gawron, age 79, of Portage and formerly of Hessville passed away Tuesday November 10, 2015 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. Ted was born February 27, 1936 in East Chicago, IN to the late Michael and Rose (Giza) Gawron. He retired from LTV Steel in 1999 with 44 years of service as a millwright. Ted was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Gloria; three children David Gawron, Philip (Kimberly) Gawron, and Donna Gawron all of Portage; four grandchildren Gloria Gawron, Lindsey Davis, Taylor (Nicholas) Popovich and Robert (Melody) Welch; many nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Johnny Gawron; two brothers Peter and John Gawron; four sisters Annie Skalba, Stephanie Breniski, Rose Bowman and Jeanie Kujawa.

A memorial mass will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday November 20, 2015 at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana will Rev. Andrew J. Corona officiating. Cremation Services were handled through Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
