Thelma Ondras, age 92, a lifelong Lake Station resident passed away Wednesday June 29, 2016 at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Thelma was born August 7, 1923 in East Gary, Indiana to the late James and Theresa (Marino) Muraco. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Gary Mercy Hospital for many years. During WWII she worked at the Kingsbury Munitions Plant while her five brothers served in the military.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy (Jerry) Johnson of Lombard, IL, four sisters-in-law Marge Moraco of Portage, Barbara Bobrowski of Lake Station, Martha Bobrowski of Chesterton and Gloria Muraco of Lake Station; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, her mother and father, her step mother Helen, seven brothers and sisters Michael (Rosalie) Moroco, Joseph Moraco, Anthony Bobrowski, Mitchell Bobrowski, Lindy (Margaret) Bobrowski, Helen (Don) Huddleston and Robert Muraco.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana 46405. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 pm.

Memorial donations are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
