Theodore (Ted) J. Jarosak,Sr., age 94, of Portage, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was born in Gary, Indiana on April 13, 1926 to the late Joseph and Anna Jarosak. He was the oldest of nine children. Attended Tolleston High School, Gary, Indiana. Enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 during World War II. Served On the Destroyer Escort USS Keith in the North Atlantic. On May 19, 1946, he married Lorraine E. Frechette and was married 72 years until her death in 2018. Ted loved his family and always put them first. He was a devoted Catholic and member of Nativity of our Savior church in Portage. He worked as an electrician at the Budd company  n Gary before retiring in 1982. He was then employed as a maintenance man at the Bonner Senior Center in Portage. Ted enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and vacationing in the spring in Florida. He had numerous  hobbies including fine woodworking, wood carving, beekeeping and always working on something in his garage. He helped everyone and could fix anything.

He will be sadly missed by his 8 children, Ted Jarosak Jr., Terry (Peggy) Jarosak, Peter (Cristy) Jarosak, Lori (Mike) Drach, Nancy (Leigh) Ellis, Kathi Hill, Kevin (Jackie) Jarosak, Jeff Jarosak, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister Joan (John) Thyen.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, Parents, Joseph and Anna and siblings, Joe, John, Larry, Paul, Mary, Jim and Tom and one grandson, Justin Jarosak .

Ted wished to be cremated and buried in Calvary Cemetery beside his wife.
