Thomas S. Braun, age 68 of Hobart passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born on May 12, 1955, in Gary, Indiana to Richard and Rose Braun. Tom was a 1974 graduate of Hobart High School. He retired from Centennial Steel where he worked as a laborer for 30 years. After retirement, he truly enjoyed helping his mom whether he was pulling weeds in the garden, washing dishes, or driving her around town. He will always be remembered as a happy person who lived each day as it came.

He is survived by his mother, Rose Braun (nee Halascsak) of Hobart; brothers, Lawrence (Karen) Braun of Lake Station, Theodore Braun of Hobart, Matthew (Michelle) Braun of Valparaiso; sister, Charlotte (Karl) Pofeldt of California; many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Braun; and sister, Karen Braun.

A memorial service for Thomas will take place Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.  Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
