Thomas A. Ford, Age 83, of Portage passed away Thursday November 23, 2023, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Thomas was born December 6, 1939, in Gary, Indiana to the late Thomas Arnold and Margaret (Phelps) Ford. Thomas was a retired firefighter for the City of Portage he also was a member The Carpenters Local Union #54. Thomas enjoyed woodworking and coin collecting. He was a proud US Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS Saratoga. He was a life member of the USS Saratoga Association.

He is survived by his four sons, Thomas (Gina) Ford, Jr. of Goldendale, Washington, Greg (Kimberly) Ford of Portage, Steven Ford of Portage, and Chris (Rebecca) Ford of Portage; twelve Grandchildren, Thomas, Kelly, Alexa, Kayla, Gregory, Crystel, Steven, Lauren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Miles, and Margaret; Numerous great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia; his parents; and a brother, Richard Ford.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 29, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at The Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. A funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. His burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana.
