Thomas Bert Conners "Honey Bear", age 75, of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso following an extended illness. Thomas was born May 29, 1937 in Gary, IN to the late Harold and Thelma (Berry) Conners. He was a retired pipefitter with US Steel. Thomas was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and loved fishing and target shooting.
Thomas is survived by his sons Thomas A. (Judith) Conners and Mark Conners both of Valparaiso; his sister Delores Barnes of Portage; four grandchildren Erik and Kellie Conners and Kevin and Keith Kerr; four great grandchildren Alex, Tristan, Dakota and Logan; and many dear friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia, daughter Cathy, great grandson Aidan, parents Harold and Thelma, and two brothers Lee-Roy and Harold Robert "Bob" Conners.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Rev. Timothy Engel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel
