Thomas Edward Niksich, age 74, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Born on May 1, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom was the son of the late Michael and Dorothy (Jaskula) Niksich. He graduated from Bishop Noll High School and went on to build a long and dedicated career at Inland Steel Company, retiring in 2013 after more than 30 years of service.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He cherished time spent with his family and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His loyalty, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

An active member of several organizations, Tom was passionate about service, camaraderie, and the motorcycle community. He was a member of the Hobart F.O.E. (Fraternal Order of Eagles #2498), where he proudly served as a two-year past president. He also served as Sergeant-at-Arms for the American Veterans Motorcycle Riders Association (AVMRA), was a dedicated member of Indiana ABATE for 42 years, and was a member of the Moon Doggers Motorcycle Group.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Marsha (McLean) Niksich of Hobart; his children, Thomas (Cheryl) Niksich and Cassandra Alberty; his stepsons, Timothy Wittig and Dennis Wittig; his cherished grandchildren, Melodye Niksich and Callum Niksich; his brother, Michael “Mick” (Darla) Niksich; his sister, Patricia (Dave) Robinson; sister-in-law Linda McLean; brother-in-law Robert McLean; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Rain Robinson, Linda (Michael) Miller, Sami Niksich, Mike Niksich, Ericka List, Erin Campbell, Allison Niksich, Murphy Blocker, and Jules Campbell-Parish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Antonia (Lopez) Niksich.

Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana, has been entrusted with the final preparations.

Tom’s legacy of love, friendship, dedication, and service will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his commitment to family and friends, and the lasting impact he made on his community.
